How was the application and admission process in TMU?

It’s not very difficult, but it’s also not easy due to the numerous processes and documents involved. Importantly, in my experience, the advisor's acceptance is necessary. Preparation for the interviews should be mostly considered. 

How was your experience adjusting to life as a foreign student in Japan?

Initially, it was very challenging to live abroad country. Many of the unfamiliar things that I’ve never realized, even though I planned as well. At that time, I was homesick for a while, far away from my family and close people, which was hard to accept. By the way, I was getting better, got support from my new Thai, Japanese, and foreign friends from other countries. I was attempting to experience new sights, engage in activities, and get knowledge of their culture.  

How was your experience doing research as part of your laboratory?

There were many new things I had to learn, not only research content but also the proper culture in the laboratory. This included new experimental equipment and approaches, for example, how to produce a hybrid plant by electrical fusion. The people in the laboratory were kind and talented, helping and cooperating nicely with anyone who was having trouble.

What challenges did you face as a student and how were you able to cope with them?

The majority of the problem lies in my mentality. It should be stable. Sometimes, my mentality was unstable due to confronting unfamiliar things, and some problems were able to be resolved. Certainly, this resulted in a decline in the quality of my work. I decided to stay in touch with my family and find a trustworthy person to confide in about my issues. 

Would you recommend prospective students to do their graduate program in TMU?

Of course, I strongly recommend. A new student will discover a new experience, curriculum, and spectacular research topics. Furthermore, outstanding researchers are waiting to share their invaluable insights and perspectives.
