My experience as a student at Tokyo Metropolitan University has been both challenging and rewarding. The application process required careful preparation, but it was manageable with clear guidelines provided. As a foreign student, adjusting to life in Japan was not easy at first due to language and cultural differences, but the supportive environment at TMU and the kindness of lab members helped me settle in. Doing research in my laboratory has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my experience, I’ve gained valuable skills, worked on meaningful projects, received helpful guidance from faculty and peers, and even got a chance to study abroad in Canada. Of course, I faced challenges such as time management and language barriers, but I was able to cope by staying organized and asking for support when needed. Overall, I would definitely recommend TMU to prospective students. It offers a high-quality academic environment and a great opportunity to grow.
