How was your experience as a student?

I applied to the doctoral program because I had already obtained my master's degree. The evaluation was based on my research goals and past studies. I did not experience any difficulties with the admissions process. I had a mostly positive experience adjusting to life in Japan because I was lucky enough to be in a supportive environment. I will mostly talk about my research, as it was my main focus. The research work was not easy in the beginning, as I was occupied with trainings and experiments, but it eventually became balanced and easygoing. The biggest challenge as a student is worrying about your project and how you will move it forward, but that is natural. I am very grateful to my PI and school for all the support they provided during my studies. I am now in a different scientific culture and experience more distractions from doing research than I had at TMU. I would definitely recommend the graduate program at TMU. There is not much pressure, and you will receive enough help according to your goals.
